We, along with the psalmist, have seen the enduring love of God in our lives. Time and again our gracious Lord has given us reason to give him thanks. In good times and bad, we are able to go approach his throne of mercy with hearts that are filled with thanks and praise because in all things we know that it is his love for us that drives everything he does. Of course, the greatest evidence of God's love is found in the cross of Christ. It is our Savior's willingness to be our substitute by living a perfect life and giving his life for us that has made the penalty for all of our sinful disobedience, we are able to live our lives in the knowledge of knowing that we will one day be with our Lord eternally in heaven. We continue to give thanks to our Lord for his gift of forgiveness through Christ by gathering together as his children. It is at Immanuel that our loving Maker comes to us through his Word and sacraments. It is here that we are able to find refreshemnt from the living water of hte gospel when our hearts grow weary. It is here that we have the opportunity to support and encourage one another as fellow pilgrims traveling the road to heaven. May the Lord continue to move us toward continually give thanks to the Lord, because we have seen his goodness in our Savior Jesus Christ, and we trust that his love for us will endure forever.
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.
(Psalm 106:1)
